Welcome to the State castle Náměšť nad Oslavou

The castle in Náměšť nad Oslavou situated on the rocky part on the left bank of the Oslava river belongs to the important renaissance buildings in Moravia. A medieval stronghold from the 13th century was ruined and in 1565-1578 the Moravian family of Žerotín rebuilt the place to a spacious renaisaince castle, which has not changed much up to the present. Buildings of so called "Vlašský dvůr" in the front area, an English park and a small French garden belong to the castle premises. In 2001 a castle and its premises were declared the National Cultural Monument.

The interior of the castle offers a unique display of tapestries, precious paintings or historical furniture, the castle chapel is remarkable for its architecture and baroque equipment, the library for its rich book stock and a barrel ceiling with the unique fresco decoration and the inner courtyard attracts with decorated renaissance arcades.

We are looking forward to your visit.
